DISCIPLINE
“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” I Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
My Child,
I sent my only born son into the Earth, not only to be the way, but to show you the way. While in the Earth, he was the perfect example of who I am. Each day he lived an extremely disciplined life. Those who followed him were called his disciples. Jesus was not only disciplined spiritually, inasmuch as he prayed daily, and studied the word of God continually, but he was also disciplined, physically. He never had sex outside of marriage, he was never drunk, and he did no drugs. He never let his flesh rule his spirit and mind. Rather, his spirit ruled his mind, and together they kept his flesh under authority. The same should be true for you. Don’t allow your flesh to cause you to eat things you shouldn’t eat and drink things you shouldn’t drink. Don’t allow the lust of your flesh to call you to overindulge and gain unhealthy weight. I need you healthy so that you can live a long life and fulfill all your destiny! I need you healthy so you can be a clear witness of my grace and truth.
Prayer: Father, I rededicate myself to you today to live a more disciplined life. I am going to eat more healthily, lose weight, and be the best version of myself for You and the work You have for me to do, in Jesus’ name! Amen.
