Galations 5:22-23
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
REVIEW OF DIVISION 2, LESSON 2
Love is THE fruit of the Spirit but it is manifested in 8 other ways/fruit.
All the fruit are internal, eternal, and unconditional!
For the last two weeks we’ve talked about maintaining joy in spite of challenging things or people.
DIVISION 2, LESSON 3 - THIS WEEK:
WE’RE TALKING ABOUT PEACE!
LESSON: PEACE IN THE STORM
We must have PEACE in spite of pressure from the THINGS outside of us.
Key Statement: WE CAN’T LET THE STORMS OF LIFE STEAL OUR PEACE
Mat 8:23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.
Mat 8:24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.
Mat 8:25 Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
Mat 8:26 But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
Mat 8:27 So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
JESUS IS OUR CHIEF EXAMPLE
Key Statement: BE STILL AND KNOW IN THE STORM
I. KNOW WHO AND WHOSE YOU ARE
II. KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO
III. KNOW THIS TOO SHALL PASS

REVIEW OF DIVISION 2, LESSON 1
Joy: internal gladness despite the external madness
Joy is internal, eternal and unconditional
We must have JOY in spite of pressure from THINGS outside of us.
We must learn to live INSIDE/OUT
Instead of outside/in!
DIVISION 2, LESSON 2 - THIS WEEK:
We must have JOY in spite of pressure from PEOPLE outside of us.
Key Statement: WE CAN’T LET PEOPLE TAKE OUR JOY!
Mat 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
Mat 16:22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!"
Mat 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
People will try to take your joy at the most critical time in your life and ministry!
This is what happened to Jesus.
No one can take your joy when you realize it’s Satan, not people, who is trying to take it!
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
No one can take your joy once your joy is set in God and set before you.
Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame…
Your joy is set in what God has promised and what God has promised is set to happen in the future.
FOCUS ON THE JOY OF THE FUTURE, NOT THE PERSECUTION OF THE PRESENT!
FOCUS ON YOUR FUTURE VICTORY, NOT YOUR PRESENT ADVERSITY!

[23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
The fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, manifested in 8 other fruit!
We’re going to take our time and go through each of them so we can LIVE THEM!
Act 16:23 And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely.
Act 16:24 Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.
Joy, like love and all the fruit of the Spirit, is INTERNAL ETERNAL, AND UNCONDITIONAL!
Joy is internal gladness despite the external madness.
Joy is NOT defined by what’s going on outside, but what’s going on INSIDE!
Joy is NOT defined by where you are or what you are going through but by what you KNOW.
I. You must KNOW that God’s Sprit is IN YOU, therefore God will never leave you nor forsake you!
Hebrews 13:5 For He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU."
II. You must KNOW that God’s joy is in you and shall always remain in you to keep you full.
John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
III. You must KNOW that God’s is ALWAYS in complete control.
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!
KEEP DOING THE RIGHT THINGS EVEN WHEN THE WRONG THINGS ARE HAPPENING!
PRAISING, PRAYING, READING, CHURCH ATTENDING!
Act 16:25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
PRAISE (FAITH) ACTIVATES THE GRACE OF GOD!
Act 16:26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed.
